At MUMSA, our vision is to foster a vibrant and inclusive community that embraces the values of Islam while promoting academic excellence, cultural diversity, and social responsibility. We aspire to be a beacon of knowledge and understanding, providing a safe and supportive space for Muslim students to thrive academically, spiritually, and socially. Our vision encompasses promoting interfaith dialogue, strengthening our ties with the broader university community, and actively contributing to the betterment of society through service and advocacy. By upholding the principles of compassion, integrity, and respect, we aim to inspire individuals to live their lives in accordance with Islamic teachings while positively impacting the world around them. Together, we envision a future where our MSA serves as a bridge of understanding, a catalyst for positive change, and a source of empowerment for all.
The mission of MUMSA is to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment that supports the holistic development of Muslim students. Our mission encompasses four key pillars: faith, education, community, and service. Firstly, we strive to cultivate a strong foundation of faith by offering opportunities for spiritual growth, including regular prayer sessions, Quran study circles, and Islamic educational programs. Secondly, we are committed to promoting academic excellence through educational initiatives, workshops, and mentorship programs that empower students to excel in their studies. Thirdly, we foster a sense of community by organizing social events, cultural celebrations, and interfaith activities that encourage dialogue, understanding, and unity. Lastly, we emphasize the importance of service and giving back to society, actively engaging in community service projects, charity drives, and initiatives that address social issues. Through our mission, we aim to empower Muslim students to embrace their identity, excel academically, connect with their community, and contribute positively to society.
MUMSA has a rich and inspiring history that spans over 7 years. Established with the aim of providing a platform for Muslim students to connect, learn, and engage, our MSA has evolved into a vibrant community with a lasting impact. Throughout the years, we have organized numerous events, including lectures by renowned speakers, interfaith dialogues, charity drives, and cultural festivals that celebrate the diversity of our Muslim student body. Our MSA has been a catalyst for fostering a sense of belonging, promoting religious literacy, and creating a welcoming space for students of all backgrounds. We are proud of our history of unity, resilience, and impactful initiatives that have shaped the experiences of countless Muslim students at Moi University. As we reflect on our past achievements, we are excited about the future and remain committed to continuously serving and empowering the Muslim community on campus and beyond.
